Community Support Specialist/Mental Health - Vietnamese Speaking - Northern VA

Resumes are now being accepted from qualified team-oriented professionals to provide community living skills training, counseling, medication monitoring, psycho-educational groups, and case management to adults with serious mental illness in residential and community settings. This is a full-time position with flexible schedules, providing support to adults living independently. Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or related field; Vietnamese speaking ability; experience with adults with mental illness in residential/community setting, reliable transportation and a clean driving record required. Experience with vocational rehabilitation or substance abuse counseling with dually diagnosed population is helpful.

PT Recovery Support Specialist - McLean, VA

This is a part-time (20hours/week) position at our Tysons Day Program in McLean, VA. Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Services Coordinator II, this position provides on-site peer support and off-site outreach support to clients in the Program; provides information and promotes opportunities to enhance the ability of clients served to progress in their recovery process. Ideal Candidate with have strong rapport-building skills, good written and oral communications, self-starter; familiar with basic computer functions and be a person with lived experience. Related education and/or work experience with adults with mental illness a plus.


Audit Preparation Intern - McLean, VA

Through generous funding from ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program, we offer an internship of eight weeks from June 21 through August 13 for 35 hours/week. Internship will pay a stipend of $2,750. Intern will assist the agency in the preparation of its annual independent financial audit to include auditing and reconciling general ledger accounts; preparing required schedules; assisting in the preparation of year-end financial statements to include statements of activities, financial position, cash flows and functional expenses; compiling and presenting primary and secondary supporting documentation; compiling information and schedules for completion of the IRS form 990. Must be an undergraduate in good academic standing enrolled in degree program at accredited college or university who will be returning to college full time (minimum 12 hours) in the Fall of 2010; interest in nonprofit organizations, Accounting and/or Finance; ability to work independently and creatively; possess effective oral and written communications skills; have strong computer skills in Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains a plus.

PT Center Office Assistant - Alexandria, VA

This is an entry-level administrative position; 20 hours/week, 5 days/week. Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Services Coordinator II, the Center Office Assistant provides clerical support to the Mt. Vernon Day Program. Responsibilities include data entry, submit medical information consents to doctors and hospitals; maintain files; troubleshoot problems with office equipment (copier, fax, and postage meter); handle timesheets/leave records; maintain petty cash; purchase and maintain office supplies as needed. Qualifications are High school or GED, one to two years of administrative work history, professional interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication skills, and understanding of confidentiality issues within a mental health agency. Person with lived experience encouraged to apply and/or work experience with adults with mental illness a plus.
