Saving Lives and Preventing Tragedies Since 1969

Founded by volunteers in 1969 as the Northern Virginia Hotline, CrisisLink began as an evening hotline for Arlington teens. Within a year, hotline services were expanded to 24 hours a day to provide skilled, compassionate listening for people of all ages. The organization incorporated in 1970 and began serving individuals in crisis throughout the entire metropolitan Washington, D.C. region. In 1999, services expanded to include comprehensive crisis prevention, intervention and response programs.

In August of 2014, CrisisLink merged with PRS, Inc. to transform the delivery of service throughout the community. Now named PRS CrisisLink, the program is able to provide serves to more individuals than ever before. In April of 2015, PRS CrisisLink received a five year accreditation from the American Association of Suicidology (AAS), the highest level available.
