Training Includes:

Basic Suicide Prevention Skills

This short presentation is designed for in-service meetings, community groups, neighborhood associations and faith-based groups as an introduction to suicide prevention. Warning signs, risk factors and connection to community resources is the primary focus, and intended for adults who observe concerning behavior but are not sure what to do.

 

Active Listening and Communication Skills

A 3-hour training designed to provide basic active and reflective listening skills that have improved communication on our hotline since 1969. This workshop provides lecture and group work for any adult, in any professional setting.

 

Phone Crisis Management Consultation

Designed to help organizations who are challenged to build their hotline or warm line training program.

 

Working Through Grief and Loss

A session geared towards those who have recently lost someone to suicide. This session is primarily for workplaces or formal groups experiencing a loss to suicide.

 

Youth in Crisis: Crisis Prevention and Intervention

A 90 minute presentation on the unique risk factors of youth who are experiencing suicidal crisis, adjustment crisis and self-injury.

 

Older Adults: Understanding and Addressing Suicide in the older adult population

Adults over the age of 65 have a significant increased risk for suicide, especially males. This 90 minute presentation is a basic overview of the unique challenges of prevention in the older adult population. A focus on complex grief, isolation, lethal means counseling and cultural competence is included.

We are recognized experts in crisis management and are frequently consulted by local and regional organizations that wish to improve their functioning and/or profitability.

Service Members and Suicide Campaign

PRS CrisisLink is committed to educating and providing services to both active duty service members and our nations veterans. With one active duty service member and eighteen veterans dying by suicide each day, we must all work together to end this national tragedy.

CrisisLink recently held a Fall Forum entitled Service Members and Suicide: Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Happiness.
