HopeLink Offers Interactive Calendar with Mental Health Tips and Resources for Mental Health Awareness Month and Beyond

Oakton, VA (May 16, 2024) —To mark National Mental Health Awareness Month, HopeLink Behavioral Health (formerly PRS) has created a downloadable, interactive calendar with great mental health tips and resources that can be used throughout May and beyond. HopeLink is a regional nonprofit with national reach that helps individuals who live with behavioral health issues or that are in crisis.

“Demand for mental health services continues to grow, and we want to continue to provide innovative solutions, including sharing important tips and resources so people can advocate for themselves and their loved ones,” explained Joseph Getch, CEO, HopeLink. “Mental Health Awareness Month is a perfect backdrop for this. That’s why we’ve developed this interactive calendar, which can be a great tool year-round that we hope people will use.”

The calendar has 30 days of actional facts, tips, and resources to help break the stigma around mental illness. Throughout the year, HopeLink works to promote better mental health. It serves as a 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Center and Regional Crisis Call Center answering calls, texts, and chats from across Virginia and the nation. HopeLink handles over 200,000 crisis calls, texts, and chats from people in crisis.

The nonprofit also helps over 2,000 individuals and families in Northern Virginia through a variety of behavioral health programs. To address growing demand, it recently added a program called Transition to Independence Process (TIP), which provides intensive support over an 18-month period for Northern Virginia youth (14-29) who are experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties. TIP is a youth-driven, highly effective program that helps youth and young adults with emotional and behavioral disorders transition to adulthood life skill goals so they can live independent, fuller lives.
