PRS Announces New Name – HopeLink Behavioral Health – During 60th Anniversary Imagine Hope Benefit
Cassaday’s Become First Recipient of Philanthropy Award Named for Them
Oakton, VA – October 26, 2023 – PRS, a leading mental health nonprofit serving Northern Virginia, the state, and beyond, surprised the over 400 guests at its annual Imagine Hope Benefit by announcing a new name and tagline for the 60 year old nonprofit: HopeLink Behavioral Health, Where Hope Meets Help. The new name, tagline, and logo better capture the breadth and depth of the organization’s work.
“For 60 years, we have provided comprehensive and specialized support to individuals and families living with behavioral health challenges or facing life crises, but our name did not fully convey all that we do. HopeLink Behavioral Health expresses the essence of our work and commitment, and we were pleased to unveil our new name with so many supporters at our recent gala,” explained Joseph Getch, CEO, HopeLink Behavioral Health (formerly PRS). “As HopeLink, we will continue to be a compassionate advocate and service provider, offering support to people through all of life’s challenges.”
The new logo and tagline and updated vision and mission statements represent months of brainstorming and planning by staff and board members with input from community stakeholders and was well-received by Imagine Hope Benefit attendees. The October 13th event, which celebrated HopeLink’s 60th anniversary, raised a record $714,000 to support the nonprofit’s outstanding programs. In addition, HopeLink announced a new annual philanthropy award—the Cassaday Hope Award, which honors individuals, corporations, or foundations whose contributions to HopeLink inspire and create hope for those it serves. The award is named after Steve and Mary Cassaday of Cassaday & Company, who were also bestowed the first Cassaday Hope Award for their unparalleled support of HopeLink.
Last year, PRS served over 1,800 individuals and families through its behavioral health programs, helping persons served navigate the mental health system, avoid psychiatric hospitalization, find, get and keep jobs, strengthen independent living skills, and maintain housing. PRS’ suicide and crisis intervention program, CrisisLink, handled more than 18,000 crisis calls, texts, and chats, providing a trained and empathetic voice for community members facing life crises. Corporate Partners provide funding and volunteers to support these efforts and ensure PRS can continue to meet the community’s growing behavioral health needs.
