New Charitable Event Kicked Off Mental Health Awareness Month

Oakton, VA (May 5, 2021)—Kicking off Mental Health Awareness Month, a new golf tournament hosted by Alliance Executive Search and CBRE on May 3 raised more than $26,000 to benefit PRS, a leading behavioral health nonprofit serving Northern Virginia.

“In our new normal, it was great to be outside meeting new people and introducing them to PRS.  We appreciate Alliance and CBRE’s generosity in hosting this great tournament that benefited those we serve. Bringing business executives and community leaders together to show support for those experiencing mental health issues was the perfect way to kick off Mental Health Awareness Month,” explained Joseph Getch, CEO, PRS.

More than 72 golfers participated in the tournament. Held at Westwood Golf Club in Vienna, the event featured 18 holes, a cocktail reception, and speakers, including a PRS client, who discussed his struggle and recovery. Alliance and CBRE plan to make this an annual event that supports PRS. As a nonprofit providing mental health, crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to thousands across Northern Virginia, PRS and its services are needed more than ever during this period of uncertainty.

“Breaking the stigma around mental health issues is the way forward. By hosting this tournament, we were able to introduce more business leaders to PRS and the critical issues they are solving in our community,” explained Brian Meadows, Partner, Alliance Executive Search, and PRS Board Member.

“With the support of our other sponsors, we are able to ensure more people have access to PRS life-changing and life-saving work. We look forward to this becoming an annual tradition,” added John DiCamillo, Senior Vice President, Advisory & Transaction Services, CBRE.

Along with Alliance and CBRE, over 20 organizations sponsored the event, including Cassady & Company, Sage Intacct, IntelliBridge, TriNet, Goldbelt, McGriff Insurance, SpeedPro Northern Virginia and Ridgeline International. Hole sponsors included: DPR, OTJ Architects, Hungry, Addison Bay, RBC Wealth Management, Bognet, WashREIT, SemFin, GradFin, Capital HR Advisors, Truist, JBG, Rob Sturm, and the PRS Board of Directors.
