PRS Stepping Stones

PRS Stepping Stones Program

PRS is proud to announce the addition of Stepping Stones, a psychosocial rehabilitation program for adults who are ready for more independence in their recovery, but who still want to attend groups and work more on their skills. At Stepping Stones, participants can choose their schedule based on which groups they want to attend specific to their interests and goals. The program is open for 4 hours each day and offers a combination of structured groups focused on skill-building topics as well as unstructured milieu time where participants can access a variety of program supports. Clients can attend just 1 group or stay for several hours. A minimum attendance plan is created during treatment planning, but participants are welcome to come to Stepping Stones more often as they wish. Expected attendance and hours of operation vary so that participants can access services while also working, going to school, or volunteering.

The new service is a modification to one of the two Recovery Academy programs to meet the evolving needs of individuals served in our psychosocial rehabilitation day programs. Stepping Stones is offered in partnership with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board.
